Lathrop-Manteca Fire Department Station 35

River Islands now has a new, state-of-the-art fire station within the community! Station 35 is one of the few local stations that can house two crews. It is also the home of the district’s administrative operations.

Chief Gene Neely said at the station’s opening last year, “The addition of Fire Station 35 will reduce response time to River Islands by more than 60 seconds… and in an industry measured by seconds, this is HUGE.”

The new station, located at 19001 Somerston Parkway, is not just a game changer for the Fire Department. The River Islands community also benefits from a beautifully designed and furnished community room, which can be used for club meetings, civic organizations and groups like Neighborhood Watch to meet.

Lathrop Police Services Breaks Ground on Administrative Headquarters

Lathrop Police Services, a division of San Joaquin County’s Sherriff’s Office, has announced the beginning of construction of its state-of-the-art Administrative Office. Located west of Bradshaw’s Crossing Bridge, the building will be one of the first things newcomers to River Islands will see upon entering the community. Since the police staff will use this facility to pick up and drop off cars at the beginning of each shift, there will be an active and visual presence of uniformed police officers at the site every day.

The 13,889-square-foot building is a contemporary design by architects LDA Partners. In the local area, the firm also designed the Lathrop Generations Center, the AG Spanos Building, and the Wine and Roses Visitors Center and Spa.
