Starting this month on the blog, we’re going to be highlighting the parks throughout River Islands and we’re kicking it off with the beautiful Sunset Point Park! We encourage all of the River Islands residents to get out and explore the parks throughout the community! There’s always plenty to explore and do here, and our parks are just a few of our favorite places to spend an afternoon.
Outdoor living is part of everyday life at River Islands. The community is designed to encourage walking and physical activity with extensive parks, trails, and neighborhood recreational amenities. So much of the community has been set aside for active and passive play areas, waterways, lakes, and open space. There really is nothing quite like River Islands, where adventure comes to you.
Sunset Point Park located on Lakeside Drive adjacent to the Boathouse! With its full-size bocce ball courts, sand volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits, it’s the perfect space for a quiet afternoon in the fresh air.
Break out the picnic baskets and blankets to cool down with your friends and family for a picnic lunch on the open greens afterward. If you join the River Islands Bocce Ball League, this park is where you’ll find yourself spending your evenings playing ball!
It’s also a beautiful spot to watch the sunset with your loved ones. They don’t just call it Sunset Point Park for nothing!
At The Boathouse adjacent to Sunset Point Park, you can rent seasonal paddle boards and kayaks to soak up all of the water fun in the summertime. Challenge your kiddos to a kayak race, go for a leisurely paddle boat ride, or spend hours floating out on the water. We can promise you won’t run out of things to do here! You can learn more about The Boathouse HERE.
